We are all familiar with the fact that the difference between to live and to exist. It’s just not the same. Thanks to the time that we live in we usually only ever strive to meet our basic needs. Even though this is of utmost importance, we often forget to expand our minds and perspectives through engaging in activities that we like.
It’s incredibly important not to forget to work on ourselves spiritually. Being satisfied with your basic needs is as important as feeding your soul, feeling happy, content, and inspired.
If you-yourself or a friend is going through some of the signs similar to the ones below, make sure to do something in order to help.
Read all about it below.
7 Signs to Look out For:
You Can’t Stop Worrying About the Future
If you’re someone who worries about the future or the past a little too much, you barely have any time to do anything else except that.
Living in the present is extremely important because you need to cater to your own needs. If you don’t, you’re going to feel absolutely terrible and unfulfilled. Instead of worrying and overthinking everything 24/7, try to do something that makes you happy. To work on something that makes you feel content. Give yourself the needed space to do these things.
You Try to Trick Yourself into Thinking That You’re Always Right
This is a defense mechanism often used by many. The sooner you break out of this mindset, the better. It’s so important to realize that you are as much a human being like the rest of the people around you. You are capable of making mistakes just like everyone else. Your mistakes and sorrow are valid, and you are not going to be any less of a person if you stop trying to be so perfect all the time. Allow yourself to be human and see how many more relationships you will be able to establish.
This is making you feel exhausted and depressed. For how long are you going to allow it?
You Have a Negative Opinion About Yourself
If someone would ask you to tell them about yourself, what would you say? We’re guessing you’re not going to be able to come up with something positive. This is not because you don’t possess those qualities, you reject to view them from an objective and not negative perspective.
You are your own best friend, and if you don’t love yourself, you’re not going to be able to love someone else. This is a quote often used, but it’s extremely true. Start practicing self-love by saying something good about yourself every day. If it is very hard for you, try to think of at least one thing per day.
Just be aware that you have the capability to find or create the solution for what you’re going through.
You Cannot Stop Holding on to Bad Memories
We get it. We’ve all been there. Traumatic experiences in life are everyone’s biggest enemy and holding onto them and constantly feeling bitter about everything that you’ve been through is a way of dealing with those things.
But, you can do that only for so long. The sooner you give up from that, the better and more progress you’re going to make in the field of self-growth.
Let go and make nice memories for once instead!
You Spend Your Time Doing Things You Don’t Enjoy
Sure, all of us either have jobs we don’t enjoy or have certain responsibilities that we have to finish even though we didn’t choose to. Still, no matter how much of a struggle this is, it doesn’t mean that you should completely give up.
Use all of the free space that out of your day to do an activity that you find to be enjoyable. Start sketching, start making music, finish some chores around the house, whatever you want to do, as long as it makes you feel good.
You Never Say No
You simply don’t feel as worthy enough to be able to say no to someone. This is why you’re being put in the position of being a people pleaser and a puppet to the ones who need you at the moment.
The problem with this is that you lose track of what you want. Instead, you just simply start to focus on other people instead of you.
Don’t allow yourself to let your life go by this way. The change can start now!
You Never Do Anything Special for Yourself
This comes thanks to the lack of self-care. Even though in your situation this is completely understandable, you need to start doing something about. Spend some quality time with your own self by doing what you want to do. Take yourself out for a coffee or maybe some dinner.
Good luck. Life is not an easy ride, but that’s what makes it so beautiful. And remember, you have all of the power that you could possibly need to get through this.
